Shot and set in the mountainous Central Asian country of Nepal, director Eric Valli's acclaimed drama follows the conflict that erupts among the residents of a remote village when the local patriarch's eldest son, charged with leading an annual yak caravan across the Himalayas for needed supplies, is killed.
