First, Rock Hudson is a brilliant genetics scientist in the frightening sci-fi yarn "Created to Kill" (1976). Gorgeous Barbara Carrera is the "embryo" he creates in the lab, a superwoman who must be taught about the world. AKA: "Embryo." Then, anthropology students searching the Pacific Northwest for evidence of Bigfoot find more than they bargained for when a cult that worships the beast captures the kids and prepares them as a ritual sacrifice. Once banned in Great Britain, the shocker "Night of the Demon" (1980) stars Michael Cutt, Melanie Graham. A playwright sees a vision of her long-dead lover--but is it all in her mind?--in the haunting "Shadow Play" (1986), with Dee Wallace Stone and Cloris Leachman. The erotic thriller "Intimate Stranger" (1991) stars Deborah Harry as a struggling rock singer whose job as a phone-sex operator brings her into contact with a psychopathic killer who is out to get her. James Russo, Tim Thomerson, and Grace Zabriskie co-star. Two-disc set also includes "The Hooker Cult Murders" and "Sister, Sister." 9 3/4 hrs. total. Standard/Widescreen; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital stereo.
