After being unceremoniously booted from the USA softball team, Reese Witherspoon attempts to make a new life for herself by moving in with her womanizing boyfriend, pro pitcher Owen Wilson. Reese eventually runs into an old friend (Paul Rudd) who's being indicted for a corporate crime his father (Jack Nicholson) committed.
