London performer Arthur (Arthur Askey) hopes to raise money to put on a new show while World War II rages, a comic crusade that brings him into contact with aristocrat and veteran songstress Lady Randall (Lily Morris). Formerly a star of the music hall era, Randall is tricked by Arthur into returning to the stage, where recapturing faded glory not only entertains but inspires.
