Sam and Susie Parker (Eddie Cantor, Joan Davis), a married vaudevillian duo, retire to a small New England town where they're shunned by the locals, most of whom can trace their family lines back to Revolutionary War heroes. But all that changes when a promissory note that proves George Washington owed one of Sam's ancestors big bucks makes them celebrities.
