Horse trainer Steve Tapley (Will Rogers, in his screen farewell) may have backed the wrong equine when he tries to play peacemaker in a feud between his bosses and a rival Bluegrass State ranching family, and suggests that their differences be settled with a race. Unfortunately, his stable’s steed can only perform in mud...and it hasn’t rained in a long time!
