Occupied Russia, 1942: When an ordinary rail worker (Vladimir Svirskiy) is spared from slaughter by Nazi soldiers, suspicious partisan leaders task two of their followers (Vladislav Abashin, Sergei Kolesov) with tracking him down and executing him. When all three come under German fire, they're forced to pull together for any chance of survival.
