Inca Son: Live Harvard University
For twenty years, Inca Son has delighted people around the world with it's colorful presentation of centuries-old Andean music and dance. It's blend of melodious panflutes, a sound which ranges from haunting to lively, and soaring strings, has led music critics to characterize the band as 'leading the listener through a magic Andean Mountain journey.' Visually, Inca Son is stunning. Resplendent in traditional Inca and Andean dress, the musicians and dancers have been called by Bob Young 'a banquet for the eyes and ears.' The group has performed on this country's most prestigious stages, from Carnegie Hall to the Kennedy Center and Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian to Washington DC's Kennedy Center and the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. In addition to a spectacular stage shows with a dance troupe that has placed first Folk Dance championships in it's native Peru, the group presents interactive educational workshops for students of all ages about Andean Music and Dance, and Inca Beliefs. Inca Son is also available for private events, including parties, weddings, and corporate functions.
