A celebrated but temperamental orchestra conductor (Oskar Werner) becomes more than prudently candid in an interview with a pretty young journalist (Barbara Ferris), making libelous remarks that hamstring his career. He uses his newfound free time to pursue an affair with the reporter, much to the dismay of his long-suffering wife (Virginia Maskell). Effective drama co-stars Donald Sutherland, Nora Swinburne, Derek Jacobi; keep an eye out for John Cleese in his first film appearance. 113 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); English Dolby Digital mono.
