David Corelli (David Caruso) looks into the death of an art dealer who blackmailed public officials by photographing them in bed with hookers. Corelli’s search leads to ex-lover Trina Maxwell-Gavin (Linda Fiorentino), a psychologist and call girl by night, now married to a powerful lawyer (Chazz Palminteri).
