In 1973, chorus boy Bruce Wayne Campbell─rechristened "Jobriath," the first openly gay glam rocker─was introduced to the world via an unprecedented marketing blitz. Two years and two albums later, he'd been roundly dismissed as over-hyped, and pursued a fitful career in cabaret until his death from AIDS in 1983. His flamboyant odyssey, and subsequent rediscovery through adherents like Morrissey, The Pet Shop Boys, and others, are recounted in this documentary portrait. 107 min.
