Writer-producer Stephen Chow handed the director’s reins to Tsui Hark for this colorful follow-up to his splashy 2013 fantasy-adventure, as the warrior monk Tang Sanzang (Kris Wu) and the defeated demons now pressed into his servitude--Monkey King (Kenny Lin), pig spirit Zhu (Yiwei Yang) and fish creature Sha (Mengke Bateer)--find themselves joined in their travels by a maiden (Yun Lin) with an uncanny secret that might doom them all.
