In seeking to help an aged couple reunite with their estranged daughter, Judge Hardy (Lewis Stone) engages Andy (Mickey Rooney) to do a little detective work to track her down. While Andy's zeal brings about the usual brushes with disaster, the family faces genuine crisis when Mrs. Hardy (Fay Holden) is stricken with pneumonia.
