Kevin Spacey is Prot, a homeless man who appears at New York's Grand Central Station one day, claiming he's a visitor from the distant planet K-PAX, and is promptly taken to a psychiatric facility. As Prot is treated by Dr. Powell (Jeff Bridges) and displays an amazing knowledge of astrophysics and innate healing abilities, Powell begins to wonder about the veracity of Prot's story.
