Nevada might be the least understood state in the U.S. Everyone knows about the deserts and gambling of Las Vegas, as well as the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range and Lake Tahoe close to Reno. There are many other beautiful and incredibly photogenic places in Nevada. Our goal was to capture the look and feel of a favorite section of White Pine County that is mostly overlooked by visitors as it is somewhat off the beaten path. Success Summit, part of the Success Loop drive that also includes Cave Lake, has for generations been a source of pride and inspiration for locals as well as those visitors fortunate enough to explore the backroads to experience it. Rather than using stock music, the music for this sideshow was composed while viewing the photos with guitar in hand. With this multi-media slideshow, photographer Debra Asay and I feel that we've captured our own feelings of 'Success' and are delighted by the opportunity we have to share them with you. The disk contains one large movie file that will play best after being copied to your computer. It might take several minutes to copy, and once on the computer, another couple of minutes for the playback software (QuickTime, Windows Media Player, etc.) to buffer it. We experimented with smaller file sizes and decided that this file size provides the best overall viewing and listening experience.
