Workaholic ad exec Ted Kramer (Dustin Hoffman) finds himself starting anew when his wife, Joanna (Meryl Streep), suddenly walks out on him and their young son, Billy (Justin Henry). When Joanna shows up over a year later wanting to raise Billy, the Kramers become locked in a bitter custody battle that doesn’t paint either of them in a positive light.
