Beyond creative block and the sundry other challenges of his craft, playwright Alan Bennett (Alex Jennings) also had to deal with the eccentricities of Miss Shepherd (Maggie Smith), the homeless woman who parked her dilapidated van in his North London driveway...and stayed there for 15 years.
