A feast for the ears and for the eyes, this opera buff in two acts, the da Ponte da 222 years ago brought Vicent Martín i Soler and his librettist Lorenzo on stage. A sexy game of love, which had in 1787 at the Vienna Burg theater premiere where Soler worked since 1782, and was able to record a great success with the public. No wonder, because the music is of great delicacy, joy and deep expression, while easy to sing and remember. As for the plot, we find parallels to Mozart / Schickaneders "Magic Flute". A feast for the eyes is also the staging of Francisco Negrin, who translated a product of popular culture of the 18th century brilliantly in our time with all the hedonistic elements who both eras together. Harry Bicket conducts in this production of Martin y Soler's opera recorded at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, in 2009. Performers include Laura Alkin, Michael Maniaci, Ainhoa Gramendia, and Marisa Martins. Directed by Matteo Ricchetti, Francisco Negrin. Starring Ainhoa Garmendia, Marisa Martins, Jossie Perez.
