This three-disc tribute to the man who gave his life to reunite America opens with "Lincoln: Trial by Fire" (1974), a documentary look at the battle of wills between the president and Union general George McClellan in the first years of the Civil War. Cliff Robertson narrates. Dramatic re-creations help to chronicle the 1865 assassination of Lincoln and its aftermath in "They've Killed President Lincoln" (1971) and the two-part "Lincoln's Last Night" (2009). The Confederacy's 1864 final push into Union territory is the focus of "No Retreat from Destiny: The Battle That Rescued Washington" (2006). And "Fired by Liberty: Black Soldiers of the Civil War" (2012) Reveals the true story of African-Americans who fought on both sides of the conflict. Also includes the feature film "Abraham Lincoln" (1930). 8 3/4 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English. Also includes the bonus feature "Yellowneck."
