On a hunt for rare love letters penned by a European poet, an American publisher (Robert Cummings) obtains board in a Venetian mansion owned by the author's 105-year-old former paramour (Agnes Moorehead). Unfortunately, the building's in the care of her unstable niece (Susan Hayward), and she doesn't care what measures she takes to preserve its secrets. Chilling take on Henry James' "The Aspern Papers" co-stars Joan Lorring, Eduardo Ciannelli. 89 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
