As per Jewish tradition, Jake Lever (Adam Kaufman) is required to marry his recently deceased brother’s wife, Leah (Lauren Ambrose), since the couple never had children. Determined to honor his brother’s memory, Jake suggests they not go through with a ceremony releasing them from that marital hook and actually tie the knot, but keep their relationship strictly platonic.
