Loving

This moving British/American drama follows Richard (Joel Edgerton) and Mildred Loving (Ruth Negga), a real-life Virginia couple whose interracial marriage violated the commonwealth’s anti-miscegenation laws and saw them sentenced to a year in prison in 1958. Released on the condition they leave the state, the Lovings moved to Washington, D.C., where they became the plaintiffs in a history-making court case that would ultimately see laws prohibiting interracial marriage deemed unconstitutional.
