Often cited as the definitive Commissaire Jules Maigret, Bruno Cremer starred as Georges Simenon’s brilliant, pipe-smoking French police detective in this 1991-2004 multi-national production. Solving crimes on the streets of 1950s Paris alongside the pragmatic and taciturn Maigret are his "faithful four": Inspector Lucas (Jean-Pierre Gos), and Detectives Janvier (Jean-Claude Frissung), Lapointe (Philippe Pollet), and Torrence (Eric Prat).
