Hapless credit company clerk Ernest Klenk (Danny Kaye) was one botch away from being fired, and he’d just made a big one--issuing an account to notorious mobster Foots Pulardos (Telly Savalas), who was about to put his lam to Mexico on plastic. His bumbling attempt to retrieve the card inspires Foots to make Ernest the fall guy for his final scam.
