After hanging out his shingle in the old neighborhood, novice lawyer Jack Moreno (Joseph Calleia) soon learned that success wouldn’t be forthcoming without the unwanted aid of corrupt ward boss William Grady (Thomas Mitchell). After Jack obtains an assistant D.A.’s position, Grady thinks that he’ll be able to call in some chips...and when Jack refuses to deliver, the battle lines are set that fall for the D.A.’s open seat.
