Thirty years after she traded her long and storied film career for a recluse's life, performer Chiyoko Fujiwara (voiced by Mami Koyama) was approached by a TV journalism crew for a retrospective. Her wistful reverie takes her back to the political dissident she loved and lost during the Sino-Japanese war and her quest for stardom in the hopes he'd find her again.
