Tony Shalhoub shines as "defective detective" Adrian Monk in this mystery/comedy series. Three years after his wife's murder aggravates his obsessive-compulsive condition and forced him to leave the San Francisco police force, Monk--joined by assistant Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), then Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard)--returns to solving crimes as a private investigator and consultant to ex-boss Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine).
