Acclaimed performances by Best Actress Oscar-winner Halle Berry as Leticia Musgrove, the estranged wife of a death row inmate (Sean Combs), and Billy Bob Thornton, as racist prison guard Hank Grotowski, who works with his son (Heath Ledger), drive this powerful drama. In the aftermath of her husband's execution, a pair of tragedies bring the emotionally drained Leticia and Hank together in a raw sexual encounter that offers each momentary solace and, perhaps, hope. Peter Boyle and Coronji Calhoun also star. 112 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1; audio commentary; deleted scenes; outtakes; behind-the-scenes footage; interviews; featurette.
