On Christmas Eve 1985, failing veterinary students Juan Nuñez (Gael García Bernal) and Benjamin Wilson (Leonardo Ortizgris) sought to reverse their fortunes by looting dozens of pre-Columbian treasures from Mexico City’s National Museum of Anthropology. Though the amateurs’ low-tech heist was successful, unloading their notorious haul would prove something else entirely.
