Bestselling novelist Owen Waterbury (Kirk Douglas) hires aspiring writer Stephanie 'Steve' Gaylord (Laraine Day) to be his secretary. She thinks this is a good deal until it becomes apparent that Waterbury is no more interested in blondes than books. Romance blooms, but not in the usual way. Written and directed by Charles Martin, the film features a stellar supporting cast that includes Keenan Wynn, Rudy Valle, and Irene Ryan.
