Now-teenaged Vada Sultenfuss (Anna Chlumsky) is back, and feeling unwanted at home with her dad Harry (Dan Aykroyd) and new stepmom Shelly (Jamie Lee Curtis) expecting a baby. She heads to Los Angeles to stay with her uncle Phil (Richard Masur) and find out more about her own mother and, with help from Phil’s girlfriend’s son (Austin O’Brien), discover revealing things about her family’s past.
