Blending classic Americana with jazz, The Neon Man and Me Soundtrack consists of the six songs that comprise Coleman's award-winning show. Awarded The Groucho for best one man show in 2005, his production chronicles the loss of his best friend after a tragic and untimely death. His friend, Mark Jamison, a neon artist, from Roanoke, VA was blown into a power line while hanging a neon sign. A month after his death, Jamison's girlfriend discovered she was pregnant. Coleman created the show as a care package to the Jamison family. So far, his production has toured the country four times and has helped raise over $50,000 for non-profits around the country. Now, thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts, it includes a public school curriculum called "Healing Community - Helping Students Come to Terms with Tragedy, Loss, and Violence." The following musicians contributed to this project: Forrest Young (drums and percussion), John Wheelock (Bass), Samson Trinh (Tenor Saxophone and Arrangements), Becca Bernard (Cello), Frank Coleman (6 and 12 string guitars, Keyboards, Trumpet), and Deirdra Nivala (Female Vocals).
