In the early '60s, the Japanese film studio Daiei was looking for a foothold in the kaiju market dominated by rival Toho, and greenlit production of the giant rat opus "Giant Horde Beast Nezura." The head-shaking saga of the uncompleted project--which was ultimately shut down by health authorities, thanks to the escape of the wild rats used in the filming--is dramatized in this crowdfunded effort.
