A young Chilean advertising executive (Gael García Bernal) sees an opportunity to end the Pinochet dictatorship after the ruler bows international pressure to submit his authority to a vote in October of 1988. Going up against the pervasive repression and censorship that Pinochet is certain will win the day, the ad man unleashes a set of radical TV commercials based on visions of a better future and the use of a single word.
