Nova: Ship That Changed the World

In 1495, the Danish wooden warship Gribshunden caught fire and sank to the bottom of the Baltic Sea off the coast of Sweden. Nearly 500 years later, the surprisingly well-preserved wreck was located, and its discovery revealed the long-sought missing link between medieval coastal-bound vessels and the mighty European ocean-going ships that would come to conquer nations and attain supremacy at sea.
