Aaron Johnson ("Kick-Ass") stars as John Lennon in this biopic about the influential songwriter's formative teenage years before The Beatles, growing up in postwar Liverpool. As Lennon deals with the aunt who raised him, the stern Mimi (Kristin Scott Thomas), as well his impetuous mother, and his meeting of future lifelong friend Paul McCartney, the genius of his musical style begins to take root.
