For contractor Dave Laughlin (Peter Facinelli, who co-directed), the news of wildfires in the vicinity of his California woodlands trailer home was enough to send him on a hardware run to do necessary prep. It took a mere shift in the wind for him to be cut off--and for his eight-months-gone wife (Fiona Dourif), teenage son (Asher Angel), and declining dad (Lance Henriksen) to face flight for their lives on foot when the property goes up.
