By and large, confrontational phone-in shock jock Elvis Cooney (Mel Gibson) has never much cared who he'd made angry. That changed the night he picked up on "Gary" (Paul Spera), who claimed Cooney cost someone close to him her life...and made sure the host understood that, by kidnaping his wife (Nancy Tate) and daughter, wiring his station to blow, and promising that all would die if he dared hang up.
