Maori cop Ariki Davis (Dominic Ona-Ariki) welcomed transfer from Auckland to Queensland and the opportunity to work under the respected police chief Stephen Tremaine (Joel Tobeck). However, while Tremaine was quickly ready to write off a local gentry’s death as suicide, Davis starts experiencing strange visions--"matakite," in his ancestral culture--and he’s convinced the matter’s anything but closed.
