Penance

The playground murder of a little girl remains unsolved when the children who witnessed the crime are too fearful of retribution to describe the killer's face, despite heartfelt pleas from the victim's mother (Kyôko Koizumi). Distraught to the point of madness, the grieving parent threatens the uncooperative youngsters with the curse of unforeseen consequences in the years to come.
