Writer/director/producer Robert Towne’s first film in the director's chair explores the relationship between two young women--Chris Cahill (Mariel Hemingway) and Tory Skinner (real-life pentathlete Patrice Donnelly)--track-and-field athletes vying for a spot on the 1980 U.S. Olympic team.
