Two of internationally acclaimed French filmmaker Philippe Garrel's works are presented in this two-disc set. First, Garrel recruits members of his family to portray thinly disguised versions of themselves in "Emergency Kisses" (1989), which follows a film director (Garrel) as he casts an autobiographical project. Brigitte Sy, Louis Garrel co-star. Next, Garrel's decade-long relationship with Warhol Superstar Nico is celebrated in "I Can No Longer Hear the Guitar" (1991), in which lovers Benoît Régent and Johanna ter Steege wallow in love, drugs, and life's uncertainties.
