Portrait in Black / Madame X

First, the stylish thriller "Portrait in Black" features Lana Turner as Sheila Cabot, a beauty married to shipping mogul Matthew (Lloyd Nolan) but in love with Dr. David Rivera (Anthony Quinn). After the lovers kill her husband, they receive a letter mentioning the murder and set out to find the writer at any cost. Sandra Dee, John Saxon, Richard Basehart, Anna May Wong co-star. Next, Turner stars as Holly Parker, a woman forced to leave her husband and infant son when her lover dies in a freak accident. Returning to town years later, Parker stands trial for murdering a blackmailer and is defended in court by a lawyer (Keir Dullea)--who is her grown son--in "Madame X."
