Downbeat drama, based on John Updike's first "Rabbit" novel, with James Caan as Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom, a former high school basketball star finding it difficult to cope with his life as an adult. Leaving his wife (Carrie Snodgress)─a heavy drinker despite being pregnant─Harry begins a relationship with a part-time hooker (Anjanette Comer) at the advice of his former coach (Jack Albertson), while a local minister (Arthur Hill) encourages him to rebuild his marriage. 94 min.
