The gifts of dapper silent farceur Raymond Griffith are on display in these restored efforts. In "Paths to Paradise" (1925), a jewel thief (Griffith) sets his heart on a priceless diamond, but faces a serious rivalry for the gem from a female competitor (Betty Compson). Soon, they join forces and set about planning the perfect crime...for which they’ll need the assistance of two unwitting police detectives! Then, a district attorney’s party is spoiled by the theft of a diamond...and his subsequent murder! It’s up to the coroner (Griffith) who arrives on the scene to piece together the baffling mystery of the crimes, before the person "whodunit" claims his life, too! "You’d Be Surprised" (1926) co-stars Dorothy Sebastian. 132 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: music score; featurette. Silent with music score.
