Then, Rossellini’s "Paisan" (1946) is composed of six stories following the Allied advance from Sicily to the Po Valley to liberate Italy during World War II. With Carmela Sazio, Robert Van Loon.
And, the final chapter of Rossellini’s depiction of everyday life during and after World War II, "Germany Year Zero" (1948), offers his neo-realist view of people struggling to survive amid the rubble of the once-proud city of Berlin. With Franz Kruger, Edmund Moeschke. 5 hrs. total on three discs. Standard; Soundtracks: Italian mono, English mono, German mono; Subtitles: English; interviews; more.
