After the closure of low-income high schools, underprivileged students could transfer to Bayside--and their efforts to fit in fuel this well-received reboot of the '90s tween-targeted sitcom. Helping the kids (Haskiri Velazquez, Mitchell Hoog, Josie Totah, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden) along were staffers like counselor Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley Lauren) and coach A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez); original "SBTB" regulars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, and Lark Voorhies would appear as well.
