Director Robert M. Young (Alambrista!, Caught, Dominick and Eugene) skillfully brings Celia Gittleson's novel to life in Saving Grace, a touching drama celebrated for its poignancy and comedic subtlety. Tom Conti (Oppenheimer, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Reuben, Reuben) stars as the newly elected Pope Leo XIV, a down-to-earth man torn between the bureaucratic duties of his position and his longing to reconnect with real people one-on-one. When Leo accidentally locks himself out of the Vatican, he seizes the opportunity to flee for the Italian countryside, but trouble is not far behind.
