Bill Murray turns in an outrageous performance as gonzo journalist Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, whose work on his latest news article is interrupted by long-time friend and activist Carl Lazlo (based on real-life attorney Oscar Zeta Acosta, played by Peter Boyle), who wants Thompson to join him in his social causes. Armed with Wild Turkey, drugs, and a typewriter, the good Doctor fears and loathes on the campaign trail, covers the Super Bowl, and helps to smuggle weapons to Latin American freedom fighters. 100 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: Spanish, French.
