Wonderful family melodrama, based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel, stars Margaret O'Brien as an orphan who comes to live with her reclusive uncle and his handicapped son in their dilapidated mansion. The two children begin caring for the run-down garden on the grounds (with sequences filmed in color), and the resulting change affects all the residents.
